Code of Conduct

This Code of Conduct governs all interactions between guild members and other people, either within the guild or outside. All members of the guild, regardless of rank, are expected to adhere to this Code of Conduct in all means of communication without exception.

Breaches of the Code of Conduct will result in disciplinary action from the Guild Leadership appropriate to the player's rank and the nature of the breach. Such disciplinary action may include discussion of the infraction, mediation with leadership/members, demotion, expulsion from the guild, and enforced fishing.

  1. Respect Others Treating others with compassion, dignity and respect are core values in Seaghyn. Be respectful of other members of the guild, their abilities, their contributions, and any extra duties they perform to keep the guild running.
  2. Behave Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, or prejudicial behavior of any form is expressly forbidden and will be met with immediate expulsion from the guild. Intentionally exasperating, obstructive, malicious, hostile, aggressive, or insulting behavior is not acceptable.
  3. Demonstrate empathy and kindness We have a baseline of a community of people motivated to be together in an environment of inclusivity and respect. Make your best effort to approach interactions from a place of compassion first. Give and accept feedback gracefully. Accept responsibility for mistakes, apologize to those affected, and utilize opportunities to learn and grow.
  4. Understand that intent does not excuse impact You know your intentions and another person’s impact on you (how they made you feel). You cannot know someone else’s intentions or your impact on them. Ask for clarification. Listen to each other. Use the platinum rule: treat others not as you want to be treated but as THEY do.
  5. You are part of a guild We succeed as a group, not as individuals. Contribute to the guild when you can. If you accept a role in the guild, take it seriously. If you raid, keep an eye on #raid-reqs and consider how you can help meet the guild #bank-needs for your team.
  6. We all play to have fun Do your best to not hamper the fun of others. If you're not having a good time, you need to evaluate why, and address it. Commenting on the game state is fine, but doing so constantly may mean you need to take a break. Remember that you are primarily responsible for whether you are having fun in the game.
  7. Not everyone will get along with everyone else That’s life. Pointing out that you dislike someone is unnecessary. Minimize your interaction with them instead. Approach an officer for assistance if you need to.
  8. Recognize when a topic is closed Please refrain from commenting on situations when an officer has intervened or a discussion has been closed. Any further concerns may be brought directly to guild leadership.
  9. Community enforcement responsibilities Guild leaders are responsible for clarifying and enforcing our standards of acceptable behavior and will take appropriate and fair corrective action in response to any behavior that they deem inappropriate, threatening, offensive, or harmful. Guild leaders have the right and responsibility to remove, edit, or reject comments and other contributions that are not aligned to our Code of Conduct, and will communicate reasons for moderation decisions when appropriate.
  10. Be Involved Constructive feedback and discussion on all aspects of the guild and raiding is always welcome. Complaints should be accompanied by alternative proposals. All feedback and discussion should respect this Code of Conduct.
